New-Mailbox cmdlet – Can I add additional attributes like streetAddress and postalCode?
Hello: With the New-Mailbox cmdlet, how can I add additional user attribute like streetAddress and postalCode, for example? I don’t see any parameters for them. It looks like one option is to create the mailbox with New-Mailbox, then wait a bit for replication and then use Set-User to add the additional attributes. Does this seem like a viable solution? Thanks.

SysAdmin, No, unfortunately these fields aren't associated with the mailbox, but are instead associated with the user account in AD. You can update them in the EMS using the Set-User cmdlet though. Wes

Thanks for the response. I’m very disappointed that New-Mailbox doesn’t have all of the commonly used attributes as parameters. I understand that those extra attributes are not part of a mailbox, per se, but come on. How many admins out there would normally create a regular user mailbox with such limited parameters? This is another tool that MS put out that’s half-baked. New-Mailbox by itself would only be good for creating test or service accounts, IMO. Now I have to spend more time to piece together a script with New-Mailbox and Set-User. This is another feature that looks good on the surface but ends up not being as useful as it could be.
